Help us fight to keep the “bomb trains” from coming through Philadelphia!
Sign this petition to President Biden, telling him not to permit highly explosive Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) through Philadelphia and our region!

In 2020, New Fortress Energy received a Special Permit from then-President Trump, to transport highly explosive Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) by trains from Northeastern PA to New Jersey, to be shipped overseas from there.
The route these trains would take runs right through Philadelphia, near such densely populated, high-poverty neighborhoods as Brewerytown, Strawberry Mansion, Fair Hill, and Hunting Park, and would run across the Schuylkill by East Falls, Manayunk, and Roxborough.
LNG is highly combustible when it leaks—that’s why this means of transport has never been used. Fires caused by such an explosion are extremely hard to put out. This dangerous plan puts thousands of people at risk, and furthers the aims of fossil fuel companies when we need to be working toward zero carbon.
The permit will expire at the end of November unless President Biden acts to renew it. 350 Philly has joined Delaware Riverkeeper Network’s great efforts to stop this from happening. A coalition of groups has set a goal of gathering 5,000 signatures on a petition to the President by 11/15. (Here’s the petition in Spanish.)
You can help by signing now, and sharing this with friends and family on social media!

With other protesters I’ve watched these trains swing in close to children’s playgrounds and schools. Do not be the abettor of dangers to children.
